Dr. Daniel Barmas-Alamdari is a board-certified and fellowship-trained ophthalmologist and glaucoma surgeon serving patients throughout Queens, Brooklyn, and Long Island. He specializes in the medical and surgical treatment of glaucoma, cataracts, and comprehensive eye disease, helping patients protect their vision at every stage.

Dr. Barmas-Alamdari performs a wide range of routine and complex procedures, including Cataract Surgery with and without femtosecond laser, minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS), trabeculectomy, and glaucoma drainage implant insertion and revision. He is also skilled in bleb needling and revision, cyclophotocoagulation, Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty, and laser iridotomy. He builds personalized treatment plans tailored to each patient’s needs, whether that means medical therapy, laser treatment, surgery, or ongoing monitoring.

A Virginian for most of his life, Dr. Barmas-Alamdari completed his ophthalmology residency at Northwell Health, where he served as chief resident. He then completed a glaucoma fellowship at Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital. He has published research on topics including intravitreal retinal injections, Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty, micropulse laser trabeculoplasty, and ocular candidiasis management in a hospital setting, along with a book chapter on retinal biosimilars.

Dr. Barmas-Alamdari served as an Advocacy Ambassador in Washington, D.C. for the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He holds active memberships in the New York State Ophthalmological Society and the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and he is proud to bring his expertise to patients across Queens, NYC, and Long Island.
