Health Insurance

Vision correction procedures, such as LASIK, are typically considered elective and are not covered by most insurance plans. However, some insurance providers may offer discounts for elective vision correction. In contrast, cataract surgery with standard intraocular lenses (IOLs) is deemed medically necessary and is generally covered by insurance. Patients choosing premium IOLs or additional advanced vision correction options during cataract surgery may incur some out-of-pocket expenses.
