Dr. Neelofar Ghaznawi
A board-certified ophthalmologist with a focus on LASIK, EVO ICL, and corneal treatments, Dr. Ghaznawi is dedicated to providing the highest standard of care.
Dr. Beatrice Whitaker
An expert in comprehensive ophthalmology, including cataract surgery and glaucoma treatments, Dr. Whitaker is passionate about patient education and advanced eye care.
Meet Our Team
Melissa Sammy
Office Manager
Melissa is an office management professional with 25 years of experience. She joined the Focus Eye care & Surgery team in June of 2024. She started her journey in 1999 as a receptionist and built her way up to an office manager.
Melissa manages all staff and works closely with the physicians in the practice. She possesses excellent leadership and organizational skills which ensure the effectiveness of the practice’s staff and processes.
Melissa’s passion for ophthalmology stems from her own personal experiences of eye issues. This led her to appreciate the importance of sight which we normally take for granted in our day to day life. Being part of a team that helps patients see clearly is one of her biggest accomplishments.
When Melissa is not in the office, she enjoys spending time with her two boys. She also enjoys watching sports both live and on TV.
Erica Garcia
Physician Liaison
Erica specializes in strengthening partnerships with physicians to drive revenue growth by building and maintaining relationships with both established and potential referral sources.
With six years in Pediatric Ophthalmology, Erica developed strong connections with doctors and directors, ensuring their patients were well cared for. Her ability to foster trust played a key role in the practice’s success.
When the opportunity to join Focus Eye Care arose, Erica saw it as a perfect fit. Drawn to the team’s commitment to the community and shared values of improving quality of life, she found alignment with their goals. She is passionate about educating people on eye care and making a positive impact.
Outside of work, Erica enjoys personal fitness, relaxing on the beach with a good book, and spending time with her dogs. She also loves outdoor dining and dancing, staying connected to her passions and community.
