Maestro2 OCT-Fundus

What is it?

Maestro2 OCT-Fundus is a 3-in-1 compact instrument with Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), fundus photography, and OCT Angiography. This is a robotic camera system that takes high-quality, true color photographs of the fundus, the back surface of the eye composed of the retina, optic disc, macula, fovea, and blood vessels.

With a single touch, Maestro2 OCT-Fundus automatically aligns, focuses, and captures the eye structures, allowing a comprehensive analysis of the eye. The OCT Angiography provides your doctor instantaneous information on the vascular structures in your eye.

Maestro2 OCT-Fundus is manufactured by Topcon Healthcare, a leading ophthalmic and optometric center that has been providing advanced imaging and diagnostic solution for over 40 years.

How does it work?

The Maestro2 OCT-Fundus uses Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), which provides images of the different layers of the eyes including the optic nerve and macula.

What are its uses?

The OCT allows your eye doctor to look at different layers of the eye to assess the Retinal Nerve Fiber Layer (RNFL) and Ganglion Cell Layer (GCL) analysis. RNFL and GCL analysis is important for both glaucoma diagnosis and disease progression.

What to expect while undergoing the test with the machine?

You will be asked to be seated in front of the instrument with your chin on the rest and forehead leaning forward and touching the top bar. Your eye care provider will adjust the chin rest as required. Look for a green x on the screen ahead and blink normally. Be sure to remain still during the process and follow the blinking instructions given to you.

Are there any side effects?
The test is carried out without dilating the pupil. Therefore, there are no side effects. You can resume any daily activities without any problems.

What are the advantages?

Maestro2 OCT-Fundus is a fast, multi-modality imaging system. This is one scan, one report, one instrument system that provides true color and high-quality images with just one touch of a button.

It provides a 3-dimensional wide scan of the fundus, with the Hood Report essential for glaucoma. The Hood Report displays the RNFL thickness, which is a piece of essential diagnostic information if you have glaucoma.

Maestro2 OCT-Fundus also lets your doctor visualize the vascular system in your eye without the need for contrast dye injection.

In short, Maestro2 OCT-Fundus lets your doctor see the complete picture of your eye, simply and easily.

How to prepare for the test?
No specific preparation for the test is required.
